Patchwork Tattoos

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Patchwork Tattoos makes AI-generated tattoo concepts that you plan with your tattoo artist. This policy applies to everything you type, upload, generate, download or share on the site, and it is part of our Terms of Service.

What you may not create or upload

1. Sexual content: nudity, sexual acts, fetish or other sexually explicit images or descriptions, including "tattoo" requests used to get them.

2. Violence and gore: graphic injury, mutilation, torture or killing shown for shock, and content that promotes or threatens violence against real people, terrorism or violent extremism, including extremist symbols used to promote them.

3. Hate: content that attacks or demeans people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability or serious illness, including hate symbols and slogans.

4. Anything that endangers children: any sexualised depiction of a minor, any content that exploits or harms children, and uploads of photos of anyone under 18. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.

5. Deepfakes and impersonation: content that puts a real person in a situation that did not happen or makes it look like they have a tattoo they do not have, recognisable likenesses of celebrities, public figures or private people without their permission, and content that pretends to come from someone else.

6. Copyright and trademark infringement: copying someone else’s tattoo, artwork, characters, logos or brand marks without permission, and requests to reproduce a living artist’s signature work.

You also may not use the site to harass anyone, break the law, get around our safety checks, or scrape or resell designs.

Photos you upload

Upload only photos of yourself, or photos you have permission to use, of adults only. "Try on my photo" places a design on a photo of your own skin: by default this happens on your device and the photo is not uploaded. If you choose the AI version, the photo is uploaded privately to make that one image.

Do not upload photos of other people’s bodies or faces without their consent, intimate images, or images that are not yours to share.

How we check content

Before a design is made, the text you type is checked by an automated text moderation service. A request it flags is refused, nothing is generated and no credits are used.

Every photo or sketch you upload is checked by SeeAPI’s image moderation, including a check for signs that a person may be a minor, before anything is made from it. Every image the AI makes is checked again before you see it. An image that fails is not shown and its credits are returned.

If the image check is briefly unavailable, an image may be shown first and checked within the next hours. An image a later check flags is taken down: it stops being shown, its share links stop working, and its credits are returned.

Designs in our public gallery are reviewed by our team before they are published. Your own designs are private to your account unless you create a share link; a free concept can be opened by anyone with its link but is not listed or shown to search engines.

We keep a record of every moderation decision, including refused requests and removed images, so a person can review it.

How designs are made

Tattoo concepts, photo-to-tattoo, cover-up ideas, AI stencils, lettering art, edits to part of a design and the AI version of "Try on my photo" are made with Google Gemini 3.1 Flash Image (Nano Banana 2), reached through APIMart.

Single Patchwork Builder pieces are drawn with OpenAI GPT Image 1.5 and checked by OpenAI GPT-5, both through APIMart; their backgrounds are removed with Bria through fal.ai.

Your idea is read and planned by Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.6 through APIMart, with Claude Haiku 4.5 through Kie.ai as a backup. Idea suggestions use OpenAI GPT-4.1 nano, and lettering spelling checks use OpenAI GPT-4.1 mini and GPT-4.1.

Some steps use no AI model: the on-skin preview places your design on one of our body template images, 4K exports are upscaled with Cloudflare Images, Builder exports are assembled from your pieces, and the free stencil runs in your browser.

Patchwork Tattoos is our own product. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Google, OpenAI, Anthropic or any other model maker.

AI-generated content

Every design on Patchwork Tattoos is AI-generated, and we label it that way on result pages, share pages and gallery pages, and in gallery downloads. Do not present a design as hand-drawn or as a real tattoo photo. A design is a concept: always consult a professional tattoo artist before getting inked.

What happens if you break this policy

Depending on how serious it is, we may refuse the request, take down the content (it stops being shown and its share links stop working), remove it from the public gallery, or close the account. Where the law requires it, we report content to the authorities.

Report content

To report a design, a share link or an account, email support@patchwork-tattoos.com with the page link or Design ID and what is wrong. A person reads every report and replies. Copyright owners can use the same address; see the takedown section of our Design License at /license.

Appeals

If you think a request was refused or your content was removed by mistake, reply to our email or write to support@patchwork-tattoos.com with the page link or what you tried to make. A person reviews it again; if the decision was wrong, we restore the content or return the credits.
