About this design
What the design shows
The fox faces left, its long muzzle projecting from a softly curved head and neck. A dark nose, small outlined eye and fine whiskers provide sharper accents within an otherwise airy drawing. Two pointed ears rise above the head, with light hatching and stippling inside them. Sweeping lines trace the fur down the cheek and neck into a tapered lower tip, leaving broad pale spaces between strands. Small dotted shadows gather beneath the jaw and along the back of the neck rather than forming a solid fill. Below the fox, separate lavender stems angle inward, with slender pointed leaves and small outlined flower clusters; the right-hand stem branches into two flowering tips. An open gap separates the fur from the plants. The forearm image shows the fox upright beneath the elbow, with the lavender extending down toward the wrist.

Placement and size
The head and lavender occupy a long central section of the forearm, with the ears closer to the elbow. Its height is more than a palm, while the muzzle stays within the arm width. An upper arm, calf or side of the ribs could hold the same taper. Shrinking it compresses the lavender flower clusters and the whiskers first. Keep the gap below the neck tip rather than raising the stems to save length.
Patchwork
Building it into a patchwork
Sparse fur lines and detached lavender give the piece light visual weight and a gently narrowing silhouette. It can sit beside a denser animal portrait, provided the fox has its own clear boundary. Small botanical neighbors below the stems continue the vertical rhythm. Place additions outside the left-facing muzzle rather than against its whiskers, and leave the space between the neck and lavender empty so the two parts retain their separation.
Small pieces that pair with it
- A detached lavender bud beside the lower stems
- A slim leaf below the tapered neck
- A small outlined seed near the right flower tips
For your artist
Notes for your tattoo artist
- 01Retain the forked flowering tip on the right lavender stem.
- 02Discuss the balance between dotted neck shadows and unfilled fur.
- 03Confirm the left-facing muzzle direction against nearby pieces.
